Sara Ann Braeutigam (known online as African Vulture) (born on February 28, 1984) is one of the most successful GoAnimators, having over 114K subscribers on YouTube, and amassing a total of over 20 million views on the platform. She is famous for creating and popularizing the "Caillou Gets Grounded" series and is also the creator of the Mouthless Girl series, among many others. As of 2023, she is the second oldest known GoAnimate user (by age) after DeVario Lopez. African Vulture is nephew and cousin intended by RandomLozzie and Everything PC Gaming. In May 2021, African Vulture reached 100,000 subscribers and became the first ever GoAnimator to receive a Silver Play Button.[1]
Retirements
On February 6, 2019, African Vulture commented that she was starting to lose interest in GoAnimate. Many people speculated that she might retire from GoAnimate soon. And sure enough 2 weeks later, on February 20, 2019, she vouched that she had made a decision to quit GoAnimate and move on. However, this was only proven to be short-lived, as on February 26th, she said that she would return to GoAnimate and then changed her channel description again. In May of 2020, she briefly left YouTube and privated her videos, but later returned. On August 5, 2020, she announced her retirement from Vyond for a third time. But once again, it wouldn't last long.
Controversies
Though African Vulture is a popular GoAnimator and valued by the community, she is not without controversy.
Fights
She has gotten into quite a few fights with other users on occasion.
2015: African Vulture vs. TheFanGuy123 (Gio The Melon/Geeoh) [1]
In 2015, African Vulture (Sara) sent her fans to harass and bully Gio with hateful comments and threats. The comments included many remarks like telling Gio to go kill himself, telling Gio they'd murder his family, and more. African Vulture did this because Gio told Sara to be more original with her GoAnimate videos and stop making grounded videos. Due to this unprecedented response, a devastated Gio unfriended her on GoAnimate, which made African Vulture continue to order her fanbase to send threats to him.
NotSmirks, a popular GoAnimator, stepped in to defend Gio from Sara and her fanbase. African Vulture was infuriated about this, so she dropped a video on GoAnimate "exposing" Gio and Smirks. This gave her fanbase more of a reason to keep attacking Gio, and now, NotSmirks. Later on, African Vulture decided to delete the video, not wanting the dispute to go on any longer.
2016: African Vulture vs. Pyrocynical
In February 2016, African Vulture attempted to fight against YouTube commentator and reviewer Pyrocynical after he reviewed one of her videos. Her actions are mentioned by Pyrocynical at the start of his review, and include her attempting to mass flag the video or use YouTube's copyright tools to take it down, before eventually giving up and deciding to let the review stay on YouTube.
2019: African Vulture vs. IT-Saac Studios (Isaac Anderson Animations)
In February 2019, after IT-Saac's (formerly Isaac Anderson Animations) main YouTube channel and his second channel (brand account) were terminated, many speculated that Sara played a role in terminating his channel, due to the fact that African Vulture herself claimed to have terminated his channel, because his videos were too "edgy" and "dirty." She also mentioned that Isaac needed to "get a life" and stop sexualizing characters like Caillou and others. After this, Sara received an immense amount of backlash from almost every end of the GoAnimate community due to the fact that Isaac was highly recognized in the community for his innovative and advanced take on his GoAnimate videos (e.g. fight scenes, etc.)
Later on, Sara claimed that what she said was a joke. Isaac didn't know if he could believe that statement or not, so he decided to blame Team YouTube. Four years later, Isaac confirmed in a live stream that African Vulture in fact did not terminate his channel, and she was indeed fibbing about it.
2019: African Vulture vs. GoTube (Blukas/LukeAnimate)
African Vulture told her fans to hate and dislike-bomb GoTube for a YouTube Poop video and a reaction video that he made.
2019: African Vulture vs. CowAnim8s
On June 23rd 2019, African Vulture has told her fans to Dislike Bomb and Hate CowAnim8s for making a Parody Satire video. After a lot of fighting, African Vulture announced that she quit and privated all of her videos. However, the next day, she unprivated all of her videos, but vowed never to talk to specfic users ever again.
2019: African Vulture vs. Kanwn (Kanwneer)
On July 10th, 2019, a small user named Kanwneer posted a video called "african vulture in a nut-free nutshell". Immediately after the video went up, African Vulture's fans instantly disliked the video, as a way to defend Sara. Kanwn accused another YouTuber, TheForza65432dude, of dislike-botting the video then undisliking it, but he denied the statement. Sara later saw the video herself and commented "Oof!" and made a post about it on her community tab.
2020: African Vulture vs. Tesla Finance
African Vulture's account was hijacked on July 28, 2020, privatizing all of her videos and renaming her channel to Tesla Finance.
2021: African Vulture vs. Raycynique (Raycynical/KingRay157)
In early July 2021, when African Vulture learned that a persistent troll and GoAnimator, LowkeyAnimator was stepping away from YouTube, she reacted with joy, and was seen celebrating her departure. Raycynique, a former friend of LowkeyAnimator, decided to step in and criticize Sara, claiming that Lowkey was wrong to have been berating her like that, but Sara was still acting extremely immature about the situation.
Although Ray had a valid point, Sara ignored the part where Raycyniqe clearly stated that he did not agree with LowkeyAnimator's actions. African Vulture's ignorance led to her sharing the post Ray made, and sending her fans to dislike all his videos, and spam his comments with death threats, etc. Ray decided to abandon his main account due to this, ultimately leaving GoAnimate after the situation. He made a video to express his true thoughts of the community's current status. He originally branded the channel as "An Abandoned Experience" before revering it to simply "Raycynical Archive" After the video, Sara alongside with her fanbases, celebrates and taunts Ray for quitting the internet, By giving him a nickname, "Criminal supporter". Sara also made a grounded video out of him as well. As others from the community were doing similar in response to Ray's actions.
A few days after Ray posted his response video, an old picture that Raycynique drew resurfaced online. The drawing contained a lewd drawing of another person's original character, naked with sperm stains all over her. Ray was 13 when he drew that picture, and the OC in question was 12 (only a year younger than him at the time). Most people did not know this and proceeded to label him a creep and a pedophile. This did not help Ray's case at all, as it gave ignorant users more of a reason to attack him (without knowing all the details.). Other than fuel the fire with a "Last Laugh"[1] video, and post an edited image of himself in joker face paint, Ray ultimately hid his channel to evade the growing hate.
The next day, Ray returned with a community post [2] by unhiding his account and addressing everything. He made sure to clarify at the top of the post that he was 13 when he drew the 12 year old original character, and that someone thought he made it recently. Despite completely debunking the pedophile allegations, he was still getting comments from ignorant users who didn't care to look at his side of the story (most from African Vulture's fanbase) saying he was a criminal user, that his apology was denied/unaccepted and etc.
SapperTV (Anti Animations) dropped a video on July 18, 2021 called "Ending The African Vulture and Raycynical Drama (and Discussing AV's Behavior)" as an attempt to end the unneeded feud between the two. In the video, she perfectly outlined each situation and discussed them credibly and accurately. The video was received decently and many users started to see the situation for what it was.
African Vulture eventually apologized to Raycynique, and she removed the grounded video out of him (of which Ray re-uploaded to his channel for archiving purposes)[2].This allowed Ray to be able to come back to the community and continue making videos now that there was no fan-base attacking him anymore.

- She originally joined GoAnimate on June 12, 2012. Her username originally was "Unicorn-a-palooza."
- Sometime in late November or early December 2012, she changed her username to "African Vulture."
- On September 13, 2017, she changed her name again to "Super Sara Animation" but changed it quickly back to African Vulture.
- Her username "African Vulture" is derived from her pet African Grey parrot, which had unique-looking facial characteristics that made it resemble a vulture. The parrot died in 2019.
- AV usually voice-acts, but she sometimes uses "Julie" TTS or text-to-speech.
- AV is a prominent supporter of The Democratic Party, Joe Biden & Kamala Harris, but nonetheless respectful towards Republicans. While certainly not liking Donald Trump, she claims to have predicted his win in 2024.
- AV has a lot of hatred towards Caillou.
- African Vulture is known to be extremely immature when it comes to handling certain situations against her (e.g. drama or criticism)
- African Vulture removed all her old videos when she found out they were the reason she got demonetized. She has been reuploading them ever since.
