Elena was once a waitress at a restaurant, she met Cole there and they later began dating and eventually got married. She is the mother of Dora and punishes her whenever Dora does something bad usually through groundings and punishment days.
Elena is otherwise some average Mexican housewife mother. She is friends with Caillou's mom, Doris. She is a Catholic Christian like her husband, and used to force Dora to go to church every Sunday but since Dora did horrible things to the church she just wishes she never married anyone. In some videos, she is a traditional housewife who does not work, while in others she is employed and working.
In the video called Mami goes too far/Arrested, she goes against everyone including Swiper and the 2 baby twins, and when she was in jail, she said that she was the queen of the world, but in this case, she ain't. Elena favourite cartoon is star vs force of evil and gravity falls and Mickey Mouse 2013 and the wonderful world of Mickey Mouse.
She is mexican through her father and indian through her mother whose maiden name was Vijaya Gupta. Her sister Kay is three years younger than her.
