Vyond Kids (formerly Go!Animate Network Retro, Go!Animate Kids Channel and GoAnimate Kids) and better known as Vyond Kids 1&2 or The Ultimate Extreme Kids Machine, were two channels specializing in kids programming under the editorial control and direction of Vyond Networks Worldwide. A spin-off of the Vyond Network, the channel mostly aired children's animated series and live action programming. The channel's target audience was children ages 2–11 and ages 14–20 during its adult and geek-oriented block called Gtrex, their mature audience nighttime action block about video game, competitions, sports, movies and TV, pop culture and E3 and Comic Con live coverages aimed at ages 14-20.

History[]

Development[]

2007-2010[]

Vyond Kids' television channel launched at 6:00 am Eastern on January 29th, 2007 as Goanimate Kids Channel, a spinoff of the now-rebranded Vyond Network. The channel launched with Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! as its first program.

2010-2017[]

The success of Vyond Kids led to Vyond Networks Worldwide launching a second channel on August 13, 2017, simply branded Vyond Kids 2. After the launch of Vyond Kids 2, some primetime programming moved to the newly-launched channel.

2017-2018[]

In 2017, to coincide with the rebranding of GoAnimate to Vyond, both channels changed their names to Vyond Kids 1 and Vyond Kids 2 respectively. Both channels continued to downplay in the ratings of both networks.

Final years[]

But with the mix of the removal of Vyond Legacy Video Maker and Non-Business Themes, the success of Vyond+ (Now 4Cartoonz) and low ratings, in 2019, Vyond Networks Worldwide announced that due to the low ratings of both channels, they would permanently close down and move their content to Vyond+ (now 4Cartoonz). Both channels ceased broadcasting on June 8th and November 28th respectively, with Vyond Kids 2 showing Victoria Chalkiti’s Power of Dream music video before fading to black on the night of June 8th, 2019 at 8:45 PM. Gtrex, the channels’ adult-oriented block, ceased broadcasting in the morning and will become a streaming service under the control of Vyond Stream in 2021.

Vyond Kids 1[]

Vyond Kids 1 was a children-oriented entertainment channel focusing on programming aimed at ages 2-11. The channel launched on January 29, 2007 at 6:00 am, replacing the now-defunct GoAnimate Network Retro, simply branded GoAnimate Kids Channel. The channel focused on providing programming to kids ages 2-11 from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm daily, with children-oriented cooking show programming during the network’s primetime schedule (which was 6:00 pm-8:30 pm before Gtrex’s start time was bumped back down to 9:30 pm). Vyond Networks Worldwide announced earlier in 2019 that Vyond Kids 1, along with its sister channel, will cease broadcasting. Vyond Kids 1 ceased broadcasting on November 28th at 6:30 AM and faded to black shortly after. Vyond Kids 1 was replaced the following day by Vyond Kids 4K.

Vyond Kids 2[]

Vyond Kids 2 was a secondary children-oriented entertainment channel focusing on programming aimed at ages 2-11. The network launched on March 21st, 2007 as Go!TV Family, a response to the success of the first channel. When the network launched, some of the Vyond Kids 1 programs moved over to Vyond Kids 2, which received criticism from parents of children. Vyond Networks Worldwide announced in 2019 that the network would close along with sister station Vyond Kids 2, citing low ratings and criticism from the network. The station closed down at 8:45 PM on June 8th, 2019 with the last official program being Pinky Dinky Doo and the last official music video being Pump it Up: Extreme singer Victoria Chalkiti’s Power of Dream, before the channel faded to black that night at 8:45 PM. A message was spoken before the channel faded to black:

Vyond Kids 3[]

Vyond Kids 3 was a optional third channel that showed preschool programming from 6am-10pm and timeshared with Gtrex+, an adult service that compiles out-of-market programming into a standalone channel. The network was launched on September 28, 2009, the same day that Nickelodeon rebranded. The network shut down on May 24th, 2020 due to low ratings and criticism. Vyond Kids 3 was replaced by Vyond Kids 6K, a 4K UHD channel.

Gtrex[]

Gtrex was an adult-oriented entertainment block on both Vyond Kids 1 and 2, focusing on gaming-and-competition-related programming aimed at ages 14-20. Its programming consisted of competition movies, TV shows, sports, and pop culture. E3 and Comic-Con coverage was usually rebroadcast on the channel daily. At launch, the block broadcast programs from 8:30pm-6:00am before Vyond Kids 1 & 2’s primetime programming was extended to 9:30pm, which led to Gtrex’s start time being bumped down to 9:30pm. Vyond Networks Worldwide announced earlier in 2019 that the block would shutdown. Gtrex ceased to exist on June 8th and November 28th at 6:00 am respectively before both Vyond Kids 1 and 2 shut down at 8:45 PM. The block's coverage of E3 and Comic-Con moved to the Vyond Gaming channel the same day.
